Local students step into the role of business CEOs through JA Titan Competition
San Diego, CA — Junior Achievement of San Diego County (JA San Diego) is bringing JA Titan®, a nationally recognized business simulation program, to San Diego high school students for the first time. In partnership with Junior Achievement USA and global asset manager Janus Henderson Investors, the program will engage 400 students from four local high schools in an interactive experience that challenges them to think and make decisions like business leaders.
Through JA Titan, students step into the role of CEOs competing in the mobile phone industry, making strategic decisions about production, marketing and corporate social responsibility. This hands-on simulation brings business economics to life while building students’ financial literacy, business acumen and essential workplace skills, including communication, collaboration, critical thinking and leadership.
“JA Titan gives students the opportunity to move beyond learning business concepts in a classroom and actually put those concepts into practice,” said Madeline Bowen, Director of Education and Workforce Initiatives at JA San Diego. “Students get to experience the challenges and opportunities that come with running a business, work together to make important decisions, and see firsthand how those decisions affect their results.”
Participating students also have the opportunity to advance to the national Future Bound competition, where they can put their business strategies and decision-making skills to the test against students from across the country.
The launch of JA Titan is part of JA San Diego’s ongoing commitment to providing young people with experiential learning opportunities that connect classroom concepts to real-world careers. By introducing students to business, entrepreneurship, and financial decision-making, JA San Diego helps prepare the next generation to navigate an evolving workforce and pursue future opportunities.
