JA Ambassadors
Grades 9-12
Cost: $300 per ambassador (Full and partial scholarships are available)
The JA Ambassador program is a 10-session program that provides foundational knowledge of the local economy, personal finances, career pathways, and work-readiness. In concert with San Diego business leaders, JA’s Ambassador program creates a platform for participants to gain the necessary skills to thrive in San Diego’s economy.

JA Stock Market Challenge
To prepare for JA Stock Market Challenge, high school students complete JA Take Stock in Your Future to learn the fundamentals of the stock market and investing.
The Challenge simulates a 60-day trading period on the stock market over the course of two hours. Each team of students is given $500,000 in mock stocks and cash. Students then compete to build the portfolio with the highest return on investment. The winning teams will receive prizes.
This year’s Stock Market Challenge was held as a hybrid event on March 8th, 2022. Over 250 students across the county and from Tijuana, Mexico participated in the competition.

Pop Up
Is this program not available at your school?
Join us for one of our JA Stock Market Pop Up events!
Students can come to our JA campus for a day of stock market know-how. Students will learn the basics of investing in the stock market before competing in stock market simulation challenge in teams. Participating in this event qualifies students for our regional JA Stock Market Challenge event.

JA Company
Program Competition
Students who participated in JA Company Program have the option to submit their business in a countywide competition to win JA San Diego Student Company of the Year and earn the chance to compete at the JA national competition.
Students pitch their business to a panel of judges composed of local business owners, executives, and professionals. The judges score students based on the company’s ingenuity, marketing, and finances as well as the quality of the business presentation.

JA Fellows connects students to San Diego’s business community through a year-long leadership and work-based learning experience. Students meet each school day and develop the foundational knowledge of the local economy, personal finance, career pathways, and work readiness. The cohort model provides students with social capital and financial literacy through real-world experiences directly connected to San Diego’s industries.
