Mission Fed JA Finance Park
Mission Fed JA Finance Park helps students build a foundation upon which they can make lifelong intelligent financial decisions, including decisions related to income, expenses, savings, and credit. Students participate in 6-13 sessions on financial literacy that culminates in a visit to our Mission Fed JA Finance Park facility. Volunteers guide groups of 8-12 students through the adult life simulation, where students learn to budget, save, and spend for themselves and their virtual families. Additional extension activities are available for each theme: Income, Savings, Insurance, and Risk Management, Credit and Debit, and Budgeting.

JA for Everyone
Ages 12+
JA for Everyone prepares participants to consider income, savings, debt, investing, insurance, and budgeting to become real world ready. The JA for Everyone budgeting workshop is a 4-hour financial literacy and budgeting simulation that immerses participants in managing a 30-day budget in San Diego. Participants are given an adult profile complete with a San Diego job and salary, family, credit score, credit, and education debt. During the simulation participants apply for a home loan, car loans, choose insurance for their family, pay for childcare, contribute to a non-profit of their choice, and manage bills and obligations.
This program is available for virtual implementation or as an in-person one-day session.

JA Scouts Personal Management Merit Badge
Grades 6 and higher
In partnership with The Boy Scouts of San Diego and Imperial Counties Council, Junior Achievement of San Diego offers the Personal Management Merit Badge through the JA for Everyone program. JA for Everyone is a personal budgeting simulation designed to help participants understand the link between lifestyle, education, career, and the management of personal finances in an interactive environment. Participants explore what it takes to balance a budget and manage a life in sunny San Diego and beyond.
The Personal Management Merit Badge workshop series prepares participants to consider income, savings, debt, investing, insurance, and budgeting to become real-world ready. Scouts must attend the three mandatory sessions at the JA campus to receive their badge.
