Lauren

Lauren is a San Diego local who enjoys playing basketball at Balboa Park and riding her bike. Lauren is currently pursuing an MA at the University of San Diego School Counseling. She hopes to later obtain her doctorate degree with the goal of becoming a superintendent.

Her favorite about JA is getting to know all the counselors and working with a group of new kids each week. Lauren’s campers taught her new ways to be a leader for youth.

Lauren will continue to lead JA students after the camp season ends as a Capstone Associate! She will be staying on with JA and will be supporting our McGrath Family JA BizTown.

Fun Fact: Lauren used to have 3 horses, a mule, and a bunch of goats.

Kendall

Kendall is an 8th-grade English teacher at Classical Academy Middle School and spent her summer break as a BizTown Camp Counselor. Her favorite part at JA the moments all her campers learn together and get curious about financial literacy topics.

Originally from Orange County, Kendall moved to San Diego four years ago. Kendall lives with her fiance whom she will be marrying in December and her dog, Maisie. In her free time, Kendall enjoys traveling, eating good food, and board games!

Fun Fact: You can spot 12-year-old Kendall in the background of the Blockbuster scene of “The Holiday”.

Noel

Noel recently graduated from San Diego State University and plans to get her teaching credentials to teach elementary or high school students. Over the last year, Noel has been teaching students at the McGrath Family JA BizTown and helping them explore the world of business.

Her favorite parts about JA are seeing the kids’ reactions when they see BizTown for the first time and watching the campers’ Shark Tank presentations.

In her free time, Noel likes to read, go to the beach, and cook meals for friends and family. She also enjoys baking with her sister.

Fun Fact: Noel learned how to bake sourdough bread from scratch during the pandemic.
