What is Junior Achievement?

JA programs are fun, hands-on programs that teach students the basics of life and equip them with the knowledge and skills to make a better life for themselves. JA San Diego reaches students in grades K-12 across San Diego County.

How much time will it take?

JA Day  1 hour training and preparation (either online or in person) 

     4 hour volunteer day (appx 8am-12pm)

Traditional In Class 1 hour weekly, 4-6 weeks  

JA Biztown  appx 8am-2pm (including 1 hour training) 

JA Finance Park appx 8am-1:30pm (including 1 hour training)

Is there training?

The volunteer training takes approximately one hour. Depending on the program, this is either day of event or scheduled in advance (see above)

Who can volunteer?

Volunteers are typically business professionals, college students, community members, or parents who want to play an active part in participating in the education of students around them.

Am I qualified to volunteer?

No special financial expertise or preparation is necessary- a comprehensive training is provided for all volunteers! Effective volunteers know how to communicate, motivate, and create enthusiasm!
