Norman Kumabe

Norman Kumabe

After a career as an electrical engineer in Orange County, Norman and his wife moved down to San Diego shortly after his retirement. Looking for ways to volunteer, Norman searched online and found Junior Achievement.

Since 2018, Norman has been a volunteer at our Mission Fed JA Finance Park. Norman understands the value of teaching young people financial literacy from early on.

“I did not have this information in high school and had to learn ‘on the job’ so to speak’, when I graduated college and went to work,” Norman said. “I wish had this information sooner.”

Norman is also a volunteer with the USS Midway Museum, the Flying Leatherneck Museum, Computers2Kids, the First Tech Challenge, and several golf fundraiser events. When he is not volunteering, Norman enjoys riding his bike, playing golf, and spending his time with his granddaughter.
