5th Annual JA Golf Classic: “A Huge Success”

In case you missed it, the headline in San Diego Magazine this month is “Junior Achievement’s 5th Annual Golf Classic: A Huge Success" and we couldn’t agree more!!

With the support of our golfers and sponsors, the event raised more than $170,000 to support JA’s mission to impact nearly 81,500 students this year by teaching them how to get a job, start a business and manage their money.

Presented by San Diego Fluid System Technologies, 103 golfers enjoyed 18 holes at the scenic Grand Golf Club on Friday, September 8th.

“It continues to get better every year,” said President and CEO, Mike Schleyhahn of San Diego Fluid System Technologies, who started the tournament five years ago.   “This event has become one of the most significant fundraisers for JA and I am proud the tournament will give 3,500 students access to JA’s life-changing financial literacy programs this school year.”

Cocktail reception, silent auction, dinner and awards program was held on the breathtaking Aria Lawn at The Fairmont Grand Del Mar.  JA's 2015 Lifetime Laureate, Rolf Benirschke served as the guest speaker.  The NFL Hall of Famer interviewed the JA Student Ambassadors, who shared they are ready for the "real-world" thanks to JA's programs.

Companies who supported the fundraising event with top sponsorships include: San Diego Fluid System Technologies, The B.E.S.T CEO Group, Dowling & Yahnke, EVOTEK, and Perfect Bar.
