The 2015 Junior Achievement Teens & Personal Finance Survey, presented by The Allstate Foundation, revealed that nearly half of teens (48 percent) think their parents will help pay for college. On the flipside, only 16 percent of parents (of teens) report that they plan to help pay.

Junior Achievement of San Diego County (JASD), the nonprofit organization dedicated to giving young people the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, recently elected five new members to join its board of directors. At the JASD’s monthly Board of Directors meeting, President and CEO Joanne Pastula, welcomed the newest members: Cathy Gallagher (Point Loma Nazarene University), Scott Hollaender (UBS Financial Services Inc.), Mark Johnson (Baker Electric Solar), John Murphy (Qualcomm) and Richard K. Shea (U.S. Bank).
