Why is Junior Achievement important to the San Diego community?
I have been involved with Junior Achievement since I movedto San Diego in 2000. I was a board member and vice chair of the executive committee for 8 years beforeretiring.
After leaving banking and JA,I worked with and consulted for variety nonprofits in management and development.I came back to JA to help design, develop and build JA Finance Park®.
I was part of the team who brought the amazing the McGrath Family JA BizTown to San Diego. And now, I am excited to bring Mission Fed JA Finance Park as a high impact innovation experiential programfor teens and young adults that will give them practical life skills and goodhabits of budgeting and career inspiration.
What inspires you to work with Junior Achievement?
We provide positive lifeexperience to students each day. Ourvolunteers bring their knowledge and enthusiasm into the classroom.
Our board is an amazing group of businessleaders and entrepreneurs that care about kids and want to do what they can tomentor, provide opportunity and inspire youth to be the best they can. I know of no other program that serves asmany students with the lasting impact that JA has in the development ofbusiness acumen, ethics and inspiration.
