Education: Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture, Cal Poly 1993
Previous Experience: From educating people about the environment as a National Park Service Park Ranger and project managing the implementation of help desk software for Intuit employees, to being the office manager at an educational consulting firm that aims to make children better writers, my varied careers have always had the underlying thread of making peoples’ lives better. I hope to continue that work here at Junior Achievement.
Why is Junior Achievement important to the San Diego community? JA’s strong reputation gives us the opportunity to positively affect the lives of people from all parts of San Diego! By teaching career readiness skills, financial literacy and entrepreneurship, Junior Achievement can positively impact children in a way that will make them more successful in both their business and personal lives! JA’s valuable learning experiences are beneficial to all involved - students, educators and volunteers. We are building a stronger, more informed San Diego community!
What inspires you to work with Junior Achievement? Today’s young people will be heading out into a rapidly changing world. Getting these students in front of industry professionals is a powerful way to help them prepare for their futures. I love that at JA I am directly involved in providing students with experiences that will help them make more informed decisions regarding their education, career possibilities and financial wellbeing. It is rewarding to see their world perspectives grow and mature as a result of the engaging programs JA supports!
