Deanne MarkleMcGrath Family JA Biztown Manager
JA Anniversary: January, 2012
Education: Grossmont College, Masters in Governance by CSBA, 10 year dedication and passion for education and children in the community.
Previous Experience: My connection to Junior Achievement began when my two children attended The McGrath Family BizTown in 5th grade. I volunteered both times my children attended and fell in love with the program and JA. I have been an advocate for children for many years. My volunteer work is extensive and cumulated with a four year term on the Cajon Valley Union School District school board, serving from 2010 to 2014. During this time I was also a BizTown Associate, beginning in 2012. It was a pleasure to come to work each day and be a part of a program that offers so much to our most valuable assets, our children.
Why is Junior Achievement important to the San Diego community? There is no other program in San Diego that offers this type of experience. The students are memorized the moment they walk in those doors and never realize they are learning life lessons that are so valuable to their futures.
What inspires you to work with Junior Achievement? I am a self-motivated and driven advocate for the education of students and will always continue to strive to empower the youth. JA is the driving force for my passion. The goals, values and vision of JA are one in the same with mine. It is a perfect match and I could not be happier to be a part of such a wonderful and vital company to the youth of San Diego.
